There were many highly anticipated high-end foundation launches
this Autumn, but this one from YSL has to be my favourite.
As the name would suggest it’s rather runny and light in texture, like an ink. I
like to apply this either with my hands or a flat foundation brush – I’m not
too keen on using a buffing brush with this one. Considering how light the
foundation feels, it’s got great coverage. Once it’s on the skin and has set,
it pretty much feels weightless and it literally lasts all day long. It’s got a
velvety finish to it that’s fairly matte but still gives some luminosity to the
skin. I’d say that this is the better version of the Chanel Perfection Velvet
Lumiere foundation, which I found clung to dry patches quite easily. Though the
finish is more on the matte side, this YSL foundation would be suitable for all
skin types, as it isn't at all drying. I'm really enjoying using this foundation at the moment for a second skin effect and it's perfect for those 'no makeup' makeup days!
