Wild About Beauty Botanical Skin Prep Serum

If you’ve read any of my recent What’s On My Face posts then you will have seen this item pop up on the make up menu. This Botanical Skin Prep Serum is one of those fabulous skincare-makeup hybrid products that can be used as a primer before make up application or on its own. I’ve been using this as a primer before make up and there are so many reasons why I’d really recommend this product.

Firstly, the ingredients are top notch – it is silicone, paraben and petrochemical free. It contains green caviar extract and sesame seed oil that really condition and plump the skin. They help to smooth out fine lines and skin imperfections, which I definitely find rings true, since after I’ve applied a pea-sized amount to my face, the texture of my skin instantly feels so much smoother and refined. This primer combined with my twice-a-week gentle face exfoliation (more on that soon) has been a match made in heaven, and my foundation has never gone on smoother. I also love the texture of this primer, since it’s pretty weightless and disappears on the skin, leaving you with the perfect base for foundation.

I like using primers in general, since I feel that they provide a barrier between my skincare and my makeup; the fact that this one manages to deliver skin rejuvenating ingredients as well as smooth imperfections without the use of silicone really does put this one above the rest. Now in terms of increasing the longevity of one’s make up –it’s not as fantastic as the holy grail Hourglass Mineral Veil primer, but it still does a great job on my skin and is perfect as an every day primer.

I’d recommend this product to anyone but especially those with dry or mature skin that want to smooth out fine lines and skin imperfections. Oily skinned gals could also go for this as it’s quite light in texture. Wild About Beauty is a new brand to me (co-founded by Louise Redknapp FYI) but after trying their primer I think I’m going to have to give some other products a go! If you want to see how my skin looks when wearing this primer then check out these posts here and here.
