What's On My Face #4

This is the makeup look that I wore on a lunch date. I wanted to create a look that made me look effortlessly radiant – not sure if I succeeded but I tried – so I went for dewy skin, a natural blush colour and a glossy nude lip. I also tried to make my hair look perfectly imperfect and tried to translate this theme of being slightly undone to my makeup, hair and outfit. When on dates, I personally think the natural look is always a winner, although creating the ‘natural look’ takes a lot more effort than guys probably expect!

To prime my skin I used the Wild About Beauty Botanical Skin Prep Serum, which is one of those fabulous skincare-makeup hydrid products and for my base I used the Chanel Vitalumiere foundation in 40 Beige for quite a dewy finish. I used the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach under my eyes to counteract dark circles and on any blemishes. I then took a tiny amount of the Liz Earle Light Reflecting Concealer in Medium-Dark to brighten under the eyes. This is a really great product for reflecting light and can be used in the same way as the YSL Touche Eclat, although I personally think this one’s a lot better! I then lightly powdered down my t-zone with the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in no. 40.

For the eyes I used the Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Black on the upper lash line and then applied lashings of my Benefit They’re Real Mascara as well as some of the KIKO Volume Top Coat Mascara for added thickness. For Eyeshadow I lightly applied a bronze Bourjois Eyeshadow in no. 93 Tabac Blond. I filled my brows in with the No 7 Beautiful Brows Pencil in Brown/Black and locked them into place with the Maybelline Sculpting Brow Mascara in Dark Brown. I used Soap & Glory Glow All Out as an under-brow highlight.

To contour my face I went for the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Deep and to highlight I used The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer. For blush I had to go with my absolute holy grail Nars Orgasm blusher. It is the perfect peachy-pink with golden shimmer running through it that looks natural but also really lifts and brightens the face.

Finally for lips I went for another holy grail product – the Lancome Gloss In Love in no. 351 Lily En Lame. It’s a gorgeous pink-nude colour that adds a bit of glamour to the look, feels comfortable on the lips and is long lasting.
