The Hangover Edit

The idea to write this post came to me a few weeks ago when I awoke the morning after a night out on the town with friends (Cirque Le Soir FYI), still feeling mildly inebriated and majorly dehydrated. I always turn to the same products to hydrate and replenish, so here’s my guide to ditch the hangover fast!

The main issue I tend to have is dehydration, so I always do my utmost to hydrate myself inside out. Firstly, I drink a lot of water and if I can, I’ll try and get my hands on some coconut water like this one from Jax Coco. Coconut water is filled with electrolytes and is proven to be even more hydrating than water.

Sticking with the theme of dehydration, my main skincare aim is to hydrate and revitalise. I’ll always start with this Instant Revitalizing Mask from Radical Skincare – it allows the skin to optimize its oxygen resources, smoothes the skin and delivers all the right nutrients to leave your skin glowing. I like to use a hydrating toner like the Neal’s Yard Frankincense Hydrating Face Mist and I then follow with the most hydrating serum I own – Hydraluron of course! This serum has a gel texture and is packed full of hyaluronic acid, which really is the cure for dry and dehydrated skin. I make sure to use something really nourishing around the eyes too, like this Eye Revive Cream from Radical Skincare. I often skip moisturiser if I’m not leaving the house and will instead pop on a very rich facial oil like the NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil (review here). For lips, I always turn to the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment. This is my Holy Grail lip product and nothing sorts out chapped lips like this does. I think that’s down to the fact that it’s packed with nourishing essential oils and again my favourite ingredient, hyaluronic acid.

When it comes to body care, I find that my muscles are often aching from all the dancing the night before so I really need a hot bath to soothe my muscles and relax my mind. Two products I love to use are the Neal’s Yard Soothing Bath Oil and the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Bath Salts. Both of these products will leave your bath smelling divine and you’ll emerge from the bathtub feeling tranquil and rested! Finally, I like to moisturise using the Jurlique Rose Body Oil (review here) that’s uber quick to apply and leaves my skin smelling of roses!

Take these steps to rehydrate and replenish and you’ll be golden – Hangover schmangover, I’ve got you covered!
