KIKO Does Skincare

As I mentioned in my recent Casino Royale post, I spent a week in Valencia seeing old friends, shopping and spending some hard earned time on the beach. In terms of shopping I was most excited to hit up Zara, Sephora and KIKO, and boy was I impressed with KIKO!

I've never really taken any notice of the skincare and haircare on offer at KIKO, but since there was a bit of a September sale I thought I'd try a few things. I'm extremely particular about the skincare I buy; I pretty much always skip reading the blurb at the front of the packaging outlining all of the claims brands make, and instead I turn to the back and carefully read through the ingredients to analyse whether I think it's a good product or not. I think that's the best way to shop skincare because there are so many luxury brands out there bringing out skincare products with the same ingredients list as products from the drugstore that are less than half the price.

Here are a few that caught my eye:

SPF 50 Lip Balm (available in store but not online) - This product really excited me because it's so rare to see a lip balm with such a high SPF. It contains raspberry seed oil and shea butter which makes this particular balm really nourishing. It does leave your lips with a bit of a white cast but if you dab on a little or put a lip colour on top of it then it's fine.

EnerC Booster - This is a concentrated serum with vitamin C that is very watery in texture and absorbs into the skin immediately. I mix a few drops of this with my moisturiser and apply it morning and night. Vitamin C promotes collagen production, reduces inflammation, protects skin cells from UV-related damage, and also lessens hyperpigmentation, which is why this product is such a great addition to any skincare routine.

Hydrating Mask - I've really enjoyed using this mask, especially now that I'm back in London and it's so cold. This mask contains hyaluronic acid and I like to keep this on for about 20 minutes to boost my skin's moisture level. This is the first mask I've tried from KIKO and I'm impressed, especially considering how inexpensive it is, so I will undoubtedly be trying others.

Anti-Age Lip Cream - I really love this product and I can already tell I'll be repurchasing this! The actual packaging looks a little like the YSL Touche Eclat, and comes with a brush applicator. The ingredients are fantastic and packed full of different essential oils and my favourite, hyaluronic acid. It reduces lip contour wrinkles as well as getting the lips baby soft. I love using this to prep my lips before applying a lipstick or lip pencil on top.

Have you tried any skincare products from KIKO?

Happy reading,

S.
