Benefit's The Rich Is Back Review

When it comes to beauty kits, Benefit always bring it! They've teamed up with British fashion designer Matthew Williamson to create The Rich Is Back - a fabulous limited edition palette that brings us back to the glamourous days of disco! This 70s inspired palette looks absolutely gorgeous from the outside due to Williamson's vibrant prints, but is this beauty kit any good?

BENEFIT'S THE RICH IS BACK, £26.50*

The kit contains four eyeshadows, all of which are sparkly! Solid Gold is a beautiful shimmery gold, Get Down Brown is a deep shimmery bronze, Feel So Teal is a gorgeous sparkly emerald, and Disco Dust is a champagne colour ideal for the inner corner of the eye or on the brow bone. The pigmentation of these shadows are good, but not as fantastic as the Urban Decay eyeshadows. Having said that, the eyeshadows are very buildable and after packing two layers of these onto the lids you will end up with very pigmented colour. I'm so excited to create a look with these shadows!

The Gimme Fever blush and is a muted pink with golden shimmers running through it. I really like this blusher and I don't have a colour like this in my current collection. On my skin tone it is more of a highlight than a blusher, but regardless it still looks beautiful. The kit also comes with a mini They're Real mascara, which I've proclaimed my love for in the past. Finally, the Inferno lip gloss is absolutely wonderful! It smells delish, applies like a dream, is completely non-sticky, very creamy and gives a nice reddish sheen to the lips. This lip gloss has become one of my handbag staples!

Swatches L-R: Gimme Fever blush, Disco Dust, Feel So Teal, Solid Gold & Get Down Brown eyeshadows

All in all I'm very impressed with the overall quality of all the products inside, and it's definitely a great kit that would work on so many different skin tones. An added beauty tip is that you can actually remove the makeup tray and use it as a gorgeous little jewellery box as pictured below, featuring some of Matthew Williamson's iconic prints!

Have you tried this beauty kit?

Happy reading,

S.
