August Birchbox Review

There's something about hearing the doorbell and knowing a box of little luxury products has arrived that makes my heart skip a beat! As hyperbolic as that sounds, that's how I felt when my August Birchbox popped through the post. This is my very first Birchbox, so I was eager to see what lovely little delights were in store for me:

This month Birchbox and the Instyle beauty team collaborated to put together a box brimming with some really great hair, skin and make up finds!

Gerda Spillman Hydro Pearls - This is a make up primer that ensures that you're foundation lasts all day long. What I quite like about this one is that it's very moisturising compared to traditional primers, and it holds make up in place very well!

Bluemandarines SkinLife Energetic Cellular Cream - This moisturiser feels very light and is packed with peptides to refresh and brighten the skin. It also smells lovely.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - Now I don't think this product needs an introduction, but for those that aren't familiar, it's a hair mask that acts by bringing elasticity back to your hair. Healthy hair stretches when wet and returns to its original length, however dry and damaged hair often snaps, and this is what the Elasticizer really helps target. I absolutely adore this product.

LAQA & Co. Lip Pencil in Wolfman - This creamy lip pencil has a gorgeous texture that applies really well on the lips. Unfortunately, this colour didn't quite work for my skin tone, although I think it would make a lovely nude-pink lip colour to pop in your handbag for lighter skin tones. I've been mixing this with another lipstick to create the perfect colour on me!

Molten Brown Ylang-Ylang Body Wash - There's not much to say about this other than that it smells scrumptious, and makes showering that much more therapeutic!

Inner Me Supplements - I was delighted to see this in my Birchbox, because I love my supplements! If you don't find me in Selfridges, you'll definitely find me in Holland & Barrett or Whole Foods! Anyway, these tablets have a great mix of ingredients including vitamin C, MSN and marine collagen that's really going to enhance hair, skin and nails.

Birchbox Gel Mask - I pop this into the fridge overnight and use this in the morning. I've got to say, it really is soothing to the eye area and helps decrease puffiness.

My first Birchbox has been great, and I can't wait for next month! What a fantastic selection of products! My main worry with these beauty boxes is that I won't like half of the products, but this box was great and I've been using every single one of these products through the month of August! It's also quite handy that Birchbox have an e-shop where you can purchase the full size of any products you may have tried and liked, and you'll also earn points to spend online! Birchbox costs £10 per month plus £2.95 p&p.

Have you tried Birchbox?

Happy reading,
