New Release: Perricone MD Photo Plasma

I've been on a hunt for the perfect SPF-containing moisturiser for a while now. The trouble I usually have is that they sometimes break me out, they aren't nourishing enough, and they give that dreaded white cast on application. When it comes to skincare, Perricone MD usually get it right, and I had high hopes for this particular product. Did it live up to my expectations? Absolutely yes.

Photo Plasma is a luxurious anti-aging moisturiser offering Broad Spectrum SPF 30 protection. It's a lightweight, oil-free cream that creates an invisible shield against environmental aggressors and guards against both UVA and UVB damage. The SPF protection is from the mineral sunscreen Titanium Dioxide, which is known to be safer and more effective than chemical sunscreens. Another star ingredient is Astaxanthin - a potent and natural antioxidant found in red algae renowned for its photoprotective powers, and is also responsible for the pink colour of this product. It's able to help prevent UV-induced collagen degradation, inflammation and wrinkles. Vitamin C Ester and Alpha Lipoic Acid also aid in smoothing and brightening the skin.

This is the finishing step to my skincare regimen as I apply it over my serum and moisturiser. I found that it applies really smoothly, and leaves the skin hydrated and radiant. I didn't break out from this at all, so it's definitely suitable for sensitive skin types. It also didn't look ashy or feel heavy on my skin like traditional moisturisers with SPF. This truly is a fantastic product - the combination of ingredients works wonders in creating a hydrating, anti-aging and protective moisturiser brimming with anti-oxidants, leaving your skin luminous and protected so you can enjoy the sunshine that little bit longer!

Photo Plasma launched this month, and is available from select department stores.
