An Ode To Chanel

My love affair with Chanel first began over two years ago, when I purchased their liquid eyeliner whilst  on holiday in Cannes. Our relationship is still going strong as I find myself turning to more and more Chanel products for their superb quality and super luxe packaging. Their most recent launch, Les Beiges healthy glow sheer powder has really set the bar for a new wave of powders hitting make up counters, that are simultaneously luminous and mattifying yet are almost undetectable on the skin. Here are my top picks:

Écriture De Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir - I've used this religiously for the last two years and have never strayed from this eyeliner. It is a pen-styler liner with a twist mechanism at the end. The nib of the eyeliner allows for a precise and smooth application. It is very pigmented and dries as a glossy carbon black shade. The staying power is fantastic and lasts on the lids all day long without any smudging. It is perfect for creating a bold liner look such as a winged line, and for carrying around in your make up bag as it's so compact. It isn't the easiest eyeliner for beginners to use, especially compared to gel liners, but it does create a flawless and bold eye liner look that I feel gel liners just cannot achieve.

Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long–Lasting Concealer in 40 Beige - This is the perfect lightweight, gel-based concealer; it instantly brightens the skin, minimizes imperfections and dries to a velvety finish. It also has exceptional staying power considering how light it feels on the skin. Having always previously used Bobbi Brown's corrector and creamy concealer, it's been lovely transitioning to a lighter concealer like this one, since it's less likely to crease or look too heavy on the skin.

Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation in 40 Beige - This is the perfect daytime foundation for normal to dry skin types. Equipped with SPF 15, it is a light-coverage foundation that hydrates and dries to a luminous satin finish. It looks oh so natural and lasts well on the skin through the day.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in No. 40 - This really is the star of the show for me. I've spent a long time looking for the right setting powder, that takes away any unwanted shine from my face, but at the same time isn't too heavy or too mattifying. This powder could even be deemed a 'non-powder' as it is so light and almost undetectable on the skin, as well as having SPF 15 making it great to use during the day or night. Chanel Les Beiges imparts a certain luminosity to the skin at the same time as mattifying, which works wonders for me, especially since I don't have oily skin. It's also a great product to throw into your handbag, and comes with a brush made off 100% natural hair (making it super soft), so you can top up on the go.

Have you tried any of these products? Which Chanel product is your favourite?

Happy reading,

S.
