Belle Of The Ball

Over the weekend, F & I attended a ball. The food and venue aren't really worth reviewing as such. However, we had a fantastic evening, and I thought I'd share which make up products I used to create this look.

I went for the classic combination of red and gold, so to match my red bandage dress (coincidentally the same dress Millie Mackintosh is wearing here), I went for red lips, bronzed skin, a shimmery gold/brown smokey eye and über-sparkly accessories. Here are the products I used:

Complexion
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in Sun Beige - This is my go-to foundation for the evening. It is a medium-full coverage foundation and dries to a semi-matte finish. It's long-lasting and creates the perfect flawless canvas to work on.
BareMinerals Mineral Veil powder - A translucent powder to set my foundation in place, so it stays put all night.
Collection 2000 Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder (discontinued) - For that extra glow on the tops of the cheekbones.

Eyes
Écriture De Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - This product is fantastic, as it keeps your eye make up in place all night.
Urban Decay Naked Palette - This has to be my favourite eyeshadow palette of all time. The colours are so beautiful and would look great on pretty much every skin tone. To create a bronze smokey eye I used Smog all over the lid, and the matte brown shade Buck in the crease to add depth and dimension to the eyes. I apply this with an all over shadow brush (number 22) that I picked up from Sephora when I was in Cannes. This is a beautiful brush for blending shadows seamlessly.
Lips
MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Kiss Me Quick - When it comes to a bold lip colour, it is essential you use a lip pencil under your lipstick of choice. Make sure you fill in all of your lips with a lip pencil, and especially the edges and corners of your lips, so they look perfectly defined and your lipstick stays on all night even after eating and drinking.
MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

Accessories
Earrings from Stella & Dot
Necklace from Tiffany & Co
Bracelets from Accessorize and Tiffany & Co
Ring from Swarovski
Nails Inc Nail Polish in Victoria & Albert

So there you have it! I hope you liked the look, and let me know what you think down below. Here are some additional photos from our night of debauchery. I must warn you though, once we got hold of the fancy dress box, there was no stopping us!

Happy reading,

S.
